The role of a Product Manager is crucial for the success of the product. As a member of the product management team, the Product Manager is responsible for gathering market intelligence, understanding market demands, and prioritizing customer requirements. With this information, the Product Manager defines the product vision.

The Product Managers responsibilities also include ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals. This requires close collaboration with stakeholders from all departments, especially sales, marketing, and support, to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

One of the key skills of a Product Manager is their deep domain and product knowledge. They are responsible for sharing this knowledge both internally and with clients. This helps to build trust and credibility with customers and ensures that the product is being used to its full potential

NAVTOR has a large fleet of customers with installed Edge side equipment that are used for maintaining all NAVTOR systems updated. This Edge side system will also be used for collecting sensor data in a broader view. In this regard we are seeking a Product Manager to hold in the collection, harvesting, transfer to shore and sharing onshore to both internal and external parties

The duties of a Product Manager Sensor Data:

• Product Strategy and Vision

Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for sensor data solutions, aligning with overall company goals and market demands.

• Needs and Market Analysis

Conduct market research and engage with customers (external providers and internal products) to understand their challenges, needs, and desired outcomes related to sensor data.

Develop personas and use cases to clearly outline target users.

Analyze competitors and industry trends to identify product differentiation opportunities.

• Product Development and Lifecycle Management

Work closely with engineering and data science teams to design and develop features that enhance data collection, processing, and analytics capabilities.

Define and prioritize product features, focusing on management, usability, performance, scalability, and security of the sensor data system.

• Requirements Gathering and Documentation

Translate needs and business objectives into clear product requirements and specifications.

Develop detailed product documentation, including use cases and user stories.

• Customer Engagement

Act as a product ambassador and main point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external customers

3rd line support for CS and TS (in case questions related to products)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field

• Background from the maritime sector would be positive

• 3+ years of experience in product management, ideally with a focus on IoT, data analytics, or sensor-based technologies.

• Strong understanding of data management, analytics, and sensor technologies.

• Familiarity with sensor data protocols (e.g., MQTT, HTTP, Zigbee) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is an advantage.

• Strong commercial instinct

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Fluent in English oral and writing

• Excellent teamwork skills

• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
