About this opportunity
We are hiring certified and experienced Offshore Electricians for contract-based rotational work on oil rigs and offshore platforms in the North Sea. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining electrical systems that power everything from drilling equipment to life support systems on board.
This position requires strong technical competence, strict adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a professional, cross-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components
Troubleshoot faults in generators, motors, lighting, control panels, and emergency power systems
Conduct routine electrical safety checks and log all maintenance activity
Collaborate with engineers, mechanics, and operations staff to ensure safe and efficient performance
Read and interpret electrical diagrams, technical manuals, and work orders
Participate in safety drills, toolbox talks, and risk assessments
Ensure all work meets offshore electrical and safety regulations (ATEX, IEC standards, etc.)
Qualifications & Requirements:
Certificate of Apprenticeship / Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent
Valid offshore safety training certificate (e.g. OLF/OPITO Basic Safety, GWO, or STCW)
Valid offshore medical certificate (e.g. Norwegian or OGUK)
At least 2 years of relevant electrical experience (onshore or offshore)
Familiarity with high-voltage and low-voltage systems
Good understanding of ATEX equipment and hazardous area regulations
Fluent in Norwegian or English
Comfortable working in rotation (e.g. 14/14 or 21/21)
Preferred Skills (Bonus):
EX/ATEX Certification
FSE (Forskrift om sikkerhet ved arbeid i og drift av elektriske anlegg)
Experience with automation/control systems (PLC, SCADA)
Knowledge of NORSOK and IEC/NEK standards
