Deck Engineer

About this opportunity
We are hiring experienced Offshore Deck Engineers for long-term and rotational projects in the North Sea. As a Deck Engineer, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and operation of mechanical equipment and structural systems located on the deck of oil platforms or floating production units (FPSOs).
This role is critical to the day-to-day logistics, safety, and performance of offshore operations. You’ll work closely with deck crew, crane operators, and marine personnel to ensure all systems on deck are functioning reliably under strict safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, inspect, and maintain deck machinery such as winches, cranes, launch systems, and lifting equipment
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hydraulic and mechanical systems
Monitor structural integrity of deck-mounted systems and fixtures
Participate in lifting operations and cargo handling tasks
Ensure compliance with offshore safety regulations and company procedures
Collaborate with engineers, mechanics, and deck crew to solve technical issues
Maintain accurate logs of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs
Support emergency response and safety drills as part of the offshore crew
Qualifications & Requirements:
Vocational diploma or technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or similar
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar offshore or maritime role
Valid Offshore Safety Training (OLF/OPITO) and Offshore Medical Certificate
Knowledge of lifting operations, deck safety, and marine systems
Familiarity with crane operation support and heavy lifting equipment
Basic understanding of FSE, ATEX zones, and NORSOK standards
Fluency in Norwegian or English
Willingness to work in 14/14, 21/21, or similar rotation schedules
Preferred Extras:
G11 Lifting Operations or similar certification
Hydraulic system troubleshooting experience
Experience working on FPSOs or jack-up rigs
Forklift or rigging certifications
